Coal Trader
JOB PURPOSE
The company would like to recruit a well-experienced Coal Trader.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitor and analyse market trends, pricing and supply/demand dynamics to make informed trading decisions
Market penetration – developing new accounts by identifying new customers.
Keeping track of global market trends and prepare market intelligence data for effective decision making
Ensuring customer satisfaction by timely addressing customer grievances through site inspection, communication issues to suppliers and resolving complaints to maintain good relationships with customers
Negotiate, finalise and execute transactions in accordance with the Company’s trade mandate
Demonstrated ability to achieve financial targets
Drive business growth through strategic planning and execution
Create an annual income budget detailing expected volumes, counterparties and margins
Proficient in risk management
Provide regular reports on trading performance, market conditions and business opportunities to the Executive Management
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Relevant qualification in business, finance or a related field
MBA would be an added advantage
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position, with coal trading experience
In-depth knowledge of the coal industry, relating to the market, including product specifics, price drivers, customers, suppliers and logistics
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and trends
Excellent negotiation and communication skills
Business development mindset
The successful applicant will have a strong fundamental knowledge of the commodity market, with a proven track record of managing profitable trading portfolios and an established network within the industry
